Most small businesses have more data than they realise — sitting in their accounting software, spreadsheets, and scattered reports. We turn it into clear dashboards and insights that drive better decisions.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
A P&L tells you what happened financially. Business analytics tells you why, and what to do about it. We pull together data from your accounting system, sales data, and other sources to give you a layered picture: which clients are most profitable, where costs are growing, what your cash position looks like over the next quarter. It is decision support, not just historical reporting.
Typically no. We connect to the tools you already use — Xero, QuickBooks, spreadsheets, CRMs. For dashboards, we use Power BI or Looker Studio, which have free tiers. If your business would benefit from a specific tool, we will tell you — but we will not recommend something unless it genuinely adds value for your size of business.
Most of our analytics clients are small businesses with turnover between £150k and £5m. They have real data and real questions, but no internal finance team to answer them. If you are making decisions about pricing, hiring, or investment on gut feel rather than numbers, analytics is for you.
Typically: a monthly report (PDF or live dashboard) covering your key metrics, a brief written commentary explaining what changed and why, and a quarterly call to review trends and discuss implications. We tailor the format to what you will actually use — some clients prefer a concise two-page summary, others want a live dashboard they can check daily.
It depends on scope — the number of data sources, complexity of reporting, and whether we are building from scratch or connecting to an existing setup. As an accountancy client, analytics work is available at preferential rates. We agree a fixed monthly fee before we start — no hourly billing, no surprises. Book a discovery call and we will give you a clear picture of cost and scope.
Yes. We work with Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent, and most cloud accounting platforms. If you are on spreadsheets, we can work with those too — and help you migrate to something more robust when that makes sense for your business.
Dashboard tools give you the interface. We give you the interpretation. Building a dashboard correctly takes time and expertise, and a dashboard without context is just data. We configure, maintain, and explain — so you spend your time making decisions, not wrangling data. And because we are also your accountant, the financial data we work from is always accurate.
